Been going here for a few years starting when they were located near the west end. Loving the new location as it is closer to my house. Akilah (Kiwi) has been my stylist since probably my 2nd visit and I request her everytime. She’s very personable and has a great spirit and her work is always quick but efficient (I normally just get a wash and comb retwist so I’m not in the salon all day). It’s always a welcoming environment.
NappStar is THE SPOT if you’re ever looking for a salon that will put the care of your hair on the same level as the style that you want. They give such good advice on what you do to maintain - and even strengthen - the health of your hair, particularly if you have locs like I do. I personally go to Kiwi and she always gives the best tips on how to maintain moisture, even when you’re a busy individual like I am. I’d highly recommend this place any time & any day of the week!
